Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center (ASTMMC) was built in 1961 in the capital town of Tandag as a 25-bed capacity emergency hospital, established after Surigao was divided into two provinces: Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte. Through the years the hospital has undergone many upgrades - from a 50-bed capacity provincial hospital in 1967 to a 100-bed capacity provincial hospital in 1983. It was renamed Adela Serra
Ty Memorial Hospital on February 15, 1993 by virtue of RA 7433 and was developed to Provincial Government until 1999. In August 1994, it was Nationalized and was converted to Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center by virtue of RA 8343. Currently, the institution is functioning as level l hospital with 200 bed capacity and with a PS for 522 plantilla position. . [Detailed Introduction] Empty date
