Job Summary

The Medical Director is an expert in directing patient care. This position requires the ability to manage and organize a team's work to be delivered with efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy while still meeting budget requirements and standards of excellence for the facility.

Job Description

Serves as the physician responsible for the overall care and clinical practice carried out at the facility.Managing the healthcare organization’s budgetAssisting in the training and promotion of the medical staffEnsuring that the medical staff and facility comply with the federal rules, regulations and codesEnhancing cooperation between Nurses, Physicians and relevant medical departmentsFostering healthy relationships with suppliers as a way of keeping the clinic stockedevaluating the coordination of the medical team to ensure the success of the institutionEnsuring that licenses are up to date, thus preventing the prosecution or termination of the hospital’s services to the publicevaluating and diffusing any tension that arises in medical unitParticipates in monitoring and improving the facility’s care through a quality assurance and performance improvement program that encourages self- evaluation, anticipates and plans for change, and meets regulatory requirements.Develops and periodically reviews and revises, as indicated, policies that govern practitioners in the facility other than physicians, including physician assistants and nurse practitioners; and guides the facility regarding the professional qualifications of other staff related to clinical decision making and the provision of direct care.Helps the facility interpret and disseminate information gained from the quality assurance and performance improvement program in a form that is useful to patients, family members, staff members, attending physicians, and others as appropriate.Helps the facility encourage active resident participation in, and promotes the incorporation of resident preferences and goals into development of, a person- directed plan of care.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be duly licensed by the Professional Regular Commission (PRC) and must be a Nephrologist with more than three (3) years’ experience.Ten or more years experience in clinical medicineWith five or more years experience in hospital administrationExcellent management skillsAdept computer skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsImpeccable presentation skills as a way of enhancing the success of the facilityInterpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
