Physician Advisor

To be responsible for delivering professional, effective medical assistance services for clients to the highest standards of excellence in conjunction with the Medical Directors (MDs) and Nurse Medical Case Managers. Responsibilities:Medical due diligence and case direction with respect to medical assistance casesAssess each case with respect to its medical elements and provide direction to facilitate medical due diligence and render appropriate assistance.Provision of assistance with referrals and retrospective claims assessments as required.Direct the medical frequency/intensity of medical contact with Treating Medical Officers / Providers, Clients, patients and their family membersDirect the planning and progress of offshore, shoreside and inpatient cases.Oversee the planning and progress of operational issues relating to medical case management.Receive and assess relevant medical calls from clients offshore/shoreside and collect logistical, medical and collateral histories pertaining to the medical event/ incident.Provide telephone/email medical assessment and consultation to patients in all parts of the world on commercial maritime vessels offshore.Medically guide non-medical personnel with limited medical training utilizing limited onboard medical suppliesRisk assess and monitor the appropriateness of the treatment where patients are located and provide medical guidanceRequired to work as part of a team within a shift system which may include night shifts and weekends. Qualifications:5 years plus post-graduation clinical medical experienceFull current registration to practice medicine in the Philippines. Exceptions rare and require review by our Legal Department.BLS/ACLS certifications are required to be current.Background in any of the following: Emergency or ICU, Family and Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Assistance Medicine, Maritime Medicine, Aviation Medicine, Remote Area Medicine or Telemedicine.
