Legal Secretary / Paralegal
The paralegal provides administrative and operational support to the Company’s legal and regulatory requirements.
Job Description· Draft, review, and execute corporate legal documentation, including but not limited to, Secretary’s Certificate, Board Resolutions, Affidavits, Certifications, Deed of Sale, Special Powers of Attorney, Release, Waiver, and Quitclaims, business contracts, Service Agreements, and other contracts/ documents as they may arise
· Prepare, organize, receive, and submit reportorial and permit requirements of the Company before government agencies, including but not limited to Baranggay offices, City Government, Department of Labor and Employment, Securities and Exchange Commission, Intellectual Property Office, Department of Trade and Industry, and others
· Attend hearings/ mediation proceedings as Company Representative before agencies, such as the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, City Government, Bureau of Fire Protection, etc, as may be required by Management or Company Counsel
· Provide general assistance to Company’s Counsel as requested. Receive and inform Management and Company’s Counsel regarding the arrival of legal and regulatory documents
· Facilitate employee disciplinary cases and union grievances. Perform and document investigations on serious employee matters that arrive. Provide recommendations to Management as needed.
· Track all deadlines of assigned requirements, and provide regular status updates to Management of progress. Organize and archive documents related to completed and ongoing cases.
· Track changes in the legal framework and provide timely updates on these changes.
· Assist legal counsels in preparing, finalizing and filing of pleadings and motions in courts and other admin. agencies (such as the National Labor Relations Commission and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board)
· Organize and safekeep case files and other important legal documents
· Assist other departments (Operations and HR) in preparing reports and other documentary requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Certification or associate’s degree in paralegal/ legal studies (bachelor’s degree is preferred). Not necessarily board passer
· Excellent communication (written and oral) and time management skills
· Intensive knowledge of the law, procedures, government regulations, and other legal processes
· Investigative mind, keen attention to detail, and strong research skills
· Experience in preparing legal reports
