Finance and Accounting Manager

OBJECTIVE

Provide strategic leadership, organizational structure and operational-level support in the delivery of financial accounting principles and managerial accounting principles to support Weblio Philippines Inc.core business agenda.

JOB PURPOSE

The role of Finance & Accounting Manager is to monitor the overall company budget, manage purchases, cash flow, proactive tax planning, maintenance of accurate data or record keeping, & streamlining processes to be able to achieve departmental goals

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookkeeping Procedures

Lay the groundwork for in-house accounting and financial reportingCollect the documentation of company financial transaction, record the transactions in the accounting journalOrganizes the transactions according to the firm's chart of accountKeep track of every financial transaction made by Weblio Philippines Inc. from the opening of the firm to present

Budgeting and Financial Strategy

Design effective budget models for departments and the offshore head officeAnalyze financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures and cash management) to ensure the company operations are within budgetPresent annual budgets to the top managementReview budget requests for approval and forecast future budget needsIdentify variances between actual and budgeted financial results at the end of each reporting periodSuggest spending improvements that increase profitsReview the company’s budget for compliance with legal regulationsEnsure department managers meet budget submission deadlines

Invoicing and Crediting 

Organize and maintain database records of account receivables and payablesManagement of compiled data from invoices for accounting purposesProcess payments via bank transfers and/or cash/chequePrepare reports on accounts receivable balances, collections activity, and other payment historyPrepare invoices and other documents required by Philippine laws for taxable purchases

Accounting Planning, Administration and Compliance

Increase adherence to tax lawsConduct an external audit of your tax returnsEnhance Operational EffectivenessPerform an external accounting audit as neededStreamline internal processes and make accounting more transparentIncrease the efficiency of annual budgeting and company planning

Communications

Effectively and efficiently communicate corporate and departmental plans both to Philippines and Weblio’s Head Office Communicate requirements and improve processes and procedures for possible partnership/listings with Japan’s Public Listings

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics degrees, or a closely related field preferred; or equivalent related experience.Minimum of 5-8 years of experience with core functions required in accounting and financeProfessional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plusAdept in the principles of accounting and financial principlesHighly comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and best practices and their application in financial areasA solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principlesIntermediate to advanced research and program development skillsAdvanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databasesAble to translate strategy into action and resultsCan effectively communicate and relay messages across all sections of the organization.Strong customer service orientation and the drive to produce results
