Build, lead and effectively manage the Merchandising team by equipping

them with proper knowledge, skills and tools in order to organize, record,

forecast and manage all of the company’s products.

Under the guidance of the Merchandising Head (MH), he/she must also

develop, standardize, refine and implement processes and systems to

ensure best practice working, team productivity, morale and overall

effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Product Management & System Integration

Defines quality of product cataloging, record keeping, data gathering, system updating & Data team organization effortsWorks closely with MH and Data Team to set direction and recommend strategies for data completion, product range list management, barcodes & category management and developmentEnsures the proper cascade of merchandise information and changes to other departmentsReviews product information requests & requirements from other groups to better understand their needEnsures completion, expediting of new items introduction, management and monitoring its life cycleHolds meetings to ensure unified approach, proper information dissemination, and monitor & manage performance

Price Management

Ensures communication & information sharing between 2 pricing sub-groups: BPL and CPLOversees implementation and advisement of price changes company-wide (and customer-wide)Ensures effective and timely updating of system for price fluctuations and other item adjustmentsDefines the standard for price lists and ensures its timely creation, updating and disseminationWorks closely with MH, Pricing Teams (BPL, CPL) and Data Team to set schedules and define strategies for price transitions meetings to ensure unified approach, proper information dissemination, and monitor & manage performance

Forecast & Inventory Management

Oversees completion of weekly order forecasts, collaborates and updates MH and others to ensure product replenishmentRe-forecasts weekly to manage fluctuations and extra demand in trading patterns and communicates these with MH and other teamsRecommends solutions and step-by-step plans for the handling, disposal or allocation of inventoryWorks closely with MH, Fcast Team and importations Team to ensure follow through of forecast and inventory management recommendations from suggestion to actuality; and in the future discuss sourcing strategiesHolds meetings to ensure unified approach, proper information dissemination, and monitor & manage performance

Leadership & Team Development

Sets clear objectives to the Merchandising Team in line with departmental goals. Organizes workflow, monitors progress, conducts regular reviews, provides feedback and supports them with routes to achieve and exceed those objectivesEnsures organization of team belongings, records, processes, tasksEnsures effective team working to enhance individual ability and overall team dynamicsContinually questions own and team practices to eliminate ‘no value added’ activityBuilds good working relationships with other groups to proactively communicate current and future planRegularly collates reports to update MH and (or other groups)• Personally demonstrates appropriate behaviors of working and promotes cultural change to reflect company policy, best practices and company business values.Inspires confidence, builds rapport and is seen as a role model

Skills & Requirements:

• University degree in Business/ Merchandising/ Inventory/

Operations/Communications or related course

• Preferably 3 – 5 years (or more) of work experience in similar or

related roles for an FMCG or product-oriented company.

• Advanced proficiency in office software (ex. Excel, Powerpoint, Email)

• Basic to intermediate understanding of photo editing, the proces and software (optional but, preferred)

• Strong written and verbal communications skills in English and
