Job Description
This highly analytical and experienced individual will help us drive growth and margin through assortment planning, vendor negotiations, on-site merchandising and inventory management. The role offers a high degree of autonomy and entrepreneurial activity to deliver the best range, service and value to our customers.Responsibilities:• Full P&L responsibility for the categories, including revenue, margin, wastage & other supplier income• Develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices• Work with vendor base to negotiate terms, secure supplier advertising spends, develop new incentive programs, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfillment center• Employ data-driven decision making to drive the category• Work closely with marketing and supply chain to forecast demand and ensure consistent supply• Partner with supply chain team to manage inventory levels and wastage• Work cross functionally with Technology, Operations and Marketing to deliver strategic projects allowing LazMart to offer the best customer experience
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate has superb business judgment with a desire to build and manage their own business. He/she must be able to work well in cross-functional teams to drive business goals. They must have good industry understanding of the grocery business, and ideally experience across multiple categories with a focus on Non-food.• Bachelor’s Degree• 5-8 years’ experience, preferably in merchandising / buying with a strong focus on Non-food side and strong connections to related suppliers• Superb business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management (both internal and external)• Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills• Strong analytical skills• Great communication skills (both oral and written) are a must• Strong Excel skills
