As a Mortgage Assistant, you will be assisting Mortgage Brokers in underwriting mortgages. You will also provide administrative support to your colleagues. This involves organizing documentation and loan records, assisting clients and co-workers throughout the loan process, and reviewing loan applications.

Responsibilities:
Focus on the preparation of quality loan application documentation so the loan is processed fast with minimal issues and rework is kept to a minimumCollect all applicant documentation to ensure the application is complete and ready to submit within established time framesGather any other supporting documents for loans when neededEnter all client and loan information into our application softwareOrder property valuationsRun files through compliance checklist and make sure all docs are on file saved at shared drivesVerify potentially fraudulent items such as conflicting addresses and flag them back to the brokerCalculate the necessary ratios to assist in the decision process using Serviceability CalculatorCopy all conversations and qualifications into CRM as reference notesAdd all new leads to CRM and update regularly to keep records up to datePrepare mortgage documents and sending to client by email or e-signSend out weekly emails to our existing database (Announcements, News, Rate sheets)Handle mortgage renewals by communicating with clients and lendersManage the administrative tasks from submission to settlement, focusing on quality improvement and communicationChase lenders for status updates keeping the broker and applicant informed every step of the wayCompare lender offerings and summarize comparisonBook appointments and manage calendarsHelp with other operational tasks as neededQualifications:
At least 3 years’ experience in an administrative support role.Competent in Microsoft Excel and WordGood communication skillsOutgoing friendly personality with a positive team player attitudeAbility to prioritize and meet tight deadlines under pressureHigh Attention to detail and organizedExperience in Credit or MortgageMortgage underwriting experience (HUGE PLUS)
