Job SummaryThe incumbent is reponsible to oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. Check schedules, confirm product specifications, arrange adjustments, oversee the work of staff in the department and monitor the quality of the product, ensuring deadlines are met.Job DescriptionDevelops and monitors implementation of editorial policies/ processes/ structure/ capabilities and standards to achieve editorial quality objectives of the business unit together with the Editor-in-Chief.Monitors capacity planning including recommendation of production schedules ana resource planning (in-house vs outsource) for all editorial jobs of the business unit to ensure OTIF completion within the budget.Builds and maintains external relationships with Editors, Editorial Board members and other key opinion leaders.Liaises with the Supervising Editors, working with them to monitor, maintain and improve the quality of the titles. Together with the editors, identify the titles' aims, scope and direction, and ensure that the established goals are met. If goals are not met, work towards change. Builds and maintains internal relationships with all those working on the titles: Business Development, Project Management, Production, Quality Management, Marketing, Sales, etc.Monitors and validates official systems, evaluation procedures, documentation and process check to monitor performance of the business unit in critical stages of the editorial process.Conducts meetings with section heads/supervisors/business unit and runs a feedback system vrith other relevant departments to monitor prog ress and follow through a vis- a-vis plan and ensure immediate solutions to roadblocks.Conducts meetings with section heads and monitors/evaluates their performance andweighs feedback to ensure achievement of business goalsMonitors and endorses recruitment, retention, and development of editorial staff within the bus iness unit through coaching, mentoring and proper training to be developed in coordination with HR.Qualification:Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Industrial), Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent with Post Graduate degree is a plus factorRequired skill(s): Production management, capacity planning, and resource/budget management.At least 15 year(s) of working experience in the related field with at least 5 years managerial experience in Production, Publishing/Printing or equivalent is required for this position.
