OceanaGold are seeking suitably qualified, experienced and motivated Occupational Health and Safety Superintendent to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the Safety Management System and all Health and Safety Programs of the Company including coordination and continual improvement of Emergency Preparedness and Response Programs. Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager to ensure continually improve safety culture and performances across Company and its contractors by building, monitoring, and supporting the Safety Management system, and health programs in order to protect the workforce from injury and harm.

about the role
Lead the Safety team in OHS compliance (regulatory and internal programs) through ongoing audits and inspections focusing on continual improvement;Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness in order to prevent injuries and/or damages;Ensure all OHSC members under Safety Section duly participate in performance management and conduct safety meetings;Lead and coach the team of safety professionals to deliver an effective and interactive service to the operation and provide leadership in maintaining/implementing ISO certification; andConduct internal audits on previous incident investigations to assess the effectiveness of corrective actions and facilitate the review of incident investigations using ICAM methodology.about you
Qualifications in Mining or any related engineering course;5 years of experience in mining operation/or mine safety work;With underground mining experience;Completed the Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training;In-depth understanding of the Mining Act and Regulations; andFamiliar with internally accepted health and safety standards.about us
