By joining us as a Senior Components Engineer, you will be able to apply your knowledge in electrical commodities by ensuring the availability of suitable components required to manufacture Emerson products. You will work with our sourcing team and manufacturing sites to ensure component availability for ongoing production, as well as design and manufacturing engineers to analyze form-fit-function of components and to select qualifying/compatible components from various sources per design specifications. You will also oversee implementation and maintenance of the component, monitoring obsolescence and identifying alternative components based on the requirements and critical parameters. You will also lead projects in support of the strategic initiatives of his/her business unit and to identify new opportunities that can help his/her business unit attain its goals.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Perform and support component planning by ensuring components are selected in accordance with global sourcing strategies, including cost, life cycle, quality, and overall supply chain riskMitigate and help solve material supply disruptions through working with Contract Manufacturers , design authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure component availability to support manufacturing needs of Actuation Technologies sitesEnsure the accurateness of part pricing, inventory level, BOM information, and revision number of the engineering drawings as well as up-to-date and accurate engineering specification details found in engineering drawing and datasheetsIdentify and provide initial qualification for second and third sources for components that are currently single sourced. Review and analyze components used in current product and/or proposed for new product development; determines current availability, expected lifecycle and alternate source options when available.FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer, Electronics and Communications EngineeringMinimum 5.5 years of related work experience in Components Sourcing/EngineeringWorked in supply chain within a manufacturing environmentKnowledgeable in electrical/electronic commodities and experience working with component level EOL alert and change notification tools such as Silicon ExpertDesign or Test experience for component qualification and product applicationsWorking knowledge of test equipment / programming tools required to verify componentsWillingness to travel to Design Authority site, manufacturing site, or vendor site for face-to-face meetings, training, and auditsKnowledgeable in environmental legislations and similar ex, ROHS, REACH etc.Knowledgeable in engineering drawings and technical specification sheetsStrong knowledge in Supply Chain ManagementStrong knowledge in Project ManagementDemonstrated strong communication skills with ability to relay technical informationAnalytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problemsFlexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing prioritiesWHO YOU ARE:
