Job Summary
This position is primarily responsible for product strategy, category assortment, the growth of all the brands, and the creation of products and categories including the in-house Brand. The role is responsible for the development of the overall merchandising strategy, balancing foresight, trends, and other business drivers across various sales channels.
You will:
Maximize sales and profits through effective and efficient merchandise buying, planning, and execution.Design and implement Category Management tools and plans which are data-driven and reflect the assortment to meet customer demands.Implement strategies and programs to achieve order fulfillment and profitability through commercial contract management, including accurately managing overall product costs vis-a-vis sales and profitability.Merchandising strategies will be well defined and will include, but are not limited to, category assortment, private brand assortment, visual merchandising, pricing strategy, seasonal and geographic adjustments, and advertising and marketing strategy.Creation of categories and product development, including the attendant processes and systems to establish themIdentify and recommend new vendors, prepare vendor evaluations, and conduct regular vendor audits against sales and gross profit growth opportunitiesParticipate in budget planning, management of specific budget items, reporting of department activities, as well as validation of invoiceLead Pricing and Margin activities, which may include the establishment of a Business Intelligence team to perform competitive pricing analysis that ensures pricing is at par with pricing standards, with the goal of maximizing sales, margins, and inventory turnContinuous market monitoring and benchmarking (including reports and data gathering) to ensure alignment against competitors and allow us to maintain our presence in the market.Skills and Qualifications
Proven leader with 10+ years of merchandising experience in the supermarket industry.Has led the implementation of grocery assortment and merchandising strategies.Successful experience leading significant change in complex, matrixed, environments. A change agent who possesses a creative thought process to tackle old and emerging issues with a fresh, new approach.Strong product sense with proven experience in driving product assortments and partnering with Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to conceive product assortments that drive business.Data-Driven Mindset where the individual possesses strong analytical skills with an ability to develop a clear, explanatory, and relevant metric.Passion for all things Food, beverage, and technology.Work Set-Up: Hybrid
