Tell me about the role

They have grown significantly over the last year and a position has opened up for a Legal Assistant / Paralegal (At least 2 years’ experience) at their firm.

You will work together with a team of 18 and will focus on providing support on a range of legal, operational, accounting and administrative tasks to the Managing Partner, a Partner and our solicitors.

Your role is crucial and under the mentorship of the team, you will gain experience and knowledge on many areas of law, focusing on property law and commercial law at first.

Assist our team with the day to day operation of files, administration, accounting and client management;Be the first point of contact for client management, especially in more administrative matters;Work on a diverse range of legal matters with our lawyers especially in transactional legal matters that requires high accuracy and attention to detail and process-oriented mindset;Draft legal documents and correspondence;Attend to file management including opening and closing files and filing emails and documents onto our legal database;Coordinate appointments and meetings;Attend to administrative matters as required to support our lawyers;Be the local port of call if we have an international legal matter;Maintain contact lists; andMonitor deadlines and manage calendar.

Candidate profile

Australian Experience: Your application will be highly regarded if you have either worked with an Australian law firm (particularly in New South Wales / Sydney) or have studied law.Career Experience: We are open to the right candidate with the right cultural fit. You shall have knowledge of day-to-day operations of a law firm. You must have excellent secretarial and organizational skills.Legal Experience: You should have at least 3 years’ experience working in a law firm and proven working experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal.Educational Experience: Tertiary education is preferred. You must have proficiency in writing and speaking the English language.Computer Skills: You must be proficient, precise and fast in using technology including Microsoft office apps, PDF apps, CRM etc. Your typing speed should be at least 50-60 words per minute. Your application will be highly regarded if you have experience in using legal database software.High Attention to Detail: We pride ourselves on having a very high standard of attention to detail.
