Position Summary: eCommerce Product Content Specialist will be responsible for retrieving, manipulating, and importing product data into our Magento site. This includes gathering product data from vendors and/or the Interworks PIM and creating supporting documentation for processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working with external programs and vendors to extract and manipulate product data Work on spreadsheets for additions and updates with accuracy Ensuring that specs, product info, and other product data are accurate and optimized to Hanes Supply’s content style guide standards Ensuring images are optimized for web, resizing, and renaming for SEO when necessary Auditing of product data to ensure integrity and quality Create technical documentation for working with data and within Optimize the supporting data architecture behind the products, implementing SEO for categories, product types, attributes, search functionality, and implementing upsell and cross sell features Monitor, support and execute ongoing SEO improvements and performance across the e-commerce experience Collaborate with team members to ensure brand consistency with product content Builds web pages using keyword mining and SEO best practices, assist with uploading creative content management including homepages and key content pages, on occasionKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Attention to detail and accuracy Intermediate level understanding of Microsoft Excel Fast learner of new technologies, tools, and processes; ability to adapt to change Accepts constructive feedback and implements changes, if needed Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent digital writing and editing skills Excellent documentation writing Strong aptitude for researching industry websites to gain knowledge of product data Ability work independently as well as within a cross-departmental team Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics/best-practices Working knowledge of website analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics) Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, a plus Experience optimizing page content resulting in high organic page rankings in search engines, a plus
