Chemonics seeks an E-Payment and Consumer Protection Specialist for the USAID Strengthening Private Enterprise for the Digital Economy (SPEED) activity. This project will seek to increase participation of Philippine small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the digital economy, leading to greater innovation, productivity, and competition in the economy. This position will be based in Manila, Philippines. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
The activity will support Philippine government programs and projects in the country’s transition to a digital economy. The activity will expand the participation of SMEs in the digital economy by improving SME capacity to adopt reliable, affordable technology solutions; expand the use of e-payments systems and FinTech innovations; improve the integration of e-commerce platforms with logistical supply chains; and increase consumer awareness and protections.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate coordination between public and private sector actors to understand current policies, processes and considerations to identify gaps and / or support rollout of e-payment systemsAnalyze, evaluate, and recommend initiatives that can improve the successful implementation of e-payment systemsConduct required data gathering, research and analysis as inputs to counterparts and subtasks in order to assist in policy formulation and implementation and/or e-payment solutions and consumer protection related initiativesAssess legal and regulatory framework for consumer protections and helps identify and strengthen crosscutting consumer protection across componentsSupport activities to enhance consumer protection awareness and consumer trustQualifications and Skills:
Degree in relevant field requiredMinimum 5 years of experience, preferably in banking or financial services sector and supporting legal and regulatory reforms related to consumer protections and e-commerce rightsKnowledge of payment procedures and policiesKnowledge of best practices for consumer protection initiatives for SMEsDemonstrated knowledge and extensive experience with USAID regulations and control systems preferredExperience on international donor-funded project a plusExcellent written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityFluency in English.Please fill in the application form provided below.
