A Little about Us

Höegh Autoliners is a global player in Ro/Ro deep sea transportation services and operates the greenest fleet in this segment. The company owns and operates approx. 40 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) in global trade systems, making around 3 000 port calls yearly. Managed from a worldwide network of around 16 offices, our main customers are major manufacturers of new cars, heavy machinery and other rolling stock. We are working towards a goal of zero emissions by 2040 and have an exciting roadmap to achieve this.

Höegh Autoliners handles a multitude of different cargo types within the Rolling cargo segment. Many of these are of a particularly complicated nature in size, shape or configuration and present a variety of challenges in ensuring safe transport onboard our PCTC vessels. As the Cargo Enquiry Handler, you will review and evaluate cargo proposals, as presented by commercial staff, for feasibility and safety. Working within a multinational network of contacts the Cargo Enquiry Handler is a vital link between the commercial and operational departments within the company.

You will work in our Manila office and will directly report to the Cargo Quality Manager. We are currently following a hybrid work arrangement.

Main Responsibilities

evaluate proposed cargo towards HAL cargo safety standards and cargo acceptance requirementsProvide cargo technical evaluation for relevant cargo enquiriesEstimate equipment quantity needs for relevant cargo enquiriesAssist Operations Support team with documentation relevant to Cargo OperationsPerform additional tasks as deemed relevant by the department management

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science or relevant courseExperience as Deck Officer on board PCTC vesselsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly ExcelExcellent communication skills in an international environmentAble to be firm yet reasonable within a multinational contact networkProactive, analytical, and with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
