What is the overall role?
The Brand Manager shall perform the following functions:
Drive the growth and profitability of the brand/brands assigned to him/her in accordance with the company’s strategic thrust and objectives.Build the brand’s equity in accordance with portfolio/category strategyDevelop the activities in support of the brand’s 3-year agendaWhat are the specific duties and responsibilities?
Consumer Insighting
Establish market size, value, segments, competitors, shares, and other information required to prepare an effective marketing plan.Review existing consumer research data and/or recommends new research that may be required in marketing plan presentation.Prepare and present brand reviews as required by management.Operations
Monitor evaluate and report market activities relevant to the preparation of an effective marketing plan.Monitor product costs and profitability of the products/brands being handled and makes recommendations for profit improvement to his / her immediate superiorMonitor progress of the products/brands against approved objectives and promptly identifies relevant opportunities/problems to his / her immediate superior.Develop and recommends realistic and measurable marketing objectives for the short and long term and specific marketing strategies and programs for his / her brand/product responsibility that will assure achievement of marketing objectivesEstablishes and recommends advertising/promotions/research budget required to help achieve short and long term objectives.Manages A&P budgets ensuring effective and efficient use of advertising monies.Delivers NPS, GM, TR, SIE, MWB and WorkplanLeads the Business Team of managers from the different business functions.Develops people through coaching and training (if applicable)Integrated Marketing Communication
Implements, monitors and controls the implementation of the approved marketing plan in coordination with other departments and external agencies as required by the plan.Develops campaign (IMC) Brief, Market Research Brief, Product & Packaging Brief M I-Tracker proposalsInnovation
Leads innovation from development to implementationWhat are the qualifications?
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or any business courseWith at least cumulative 7 years experience in a brand management role; at least 3-4 years experience in Brand Marketing Management from a consumer goods company as an Assistant Product Manager to Product Manager (supervisorial) capacity.A multinational experience combined with a Filipino company is an advantage, however, not required.Experience in related disciplines such as CMI /Trade Marketing / Sales are valued, but not requiredWhat competencies are needed to succeed in the role?
Strong oral and written communication skills, very good leadership and interpersonal skills along with good analytical aptitude.Creative. Innovative. Flexible and resourceful.With an average knowledge and application skills of concepts and techniques in the field of brand marketing management.Must be able to use the computer for analytical tasks.Must have very good aptitude in organizing, planning, leading and controlling of medium degree complex activities that involve the annual or similar medium and long term scheduling, controlling and monitoring of his / her brand responsibility
