Job Description:

The Labor & Employment Counsel Manager - Growth Markets, has responsibility for providing immigration related legal advice, supporting immigration compliance, and ensuring effective legal support for immigration matters across Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Latin America and Africa. They will act as the primary legal advisor on immigration law issues to executives in People Mobility, other Corporate functions, business leaders and to Legal leads. 

The Labor & Employment Counsel Manager - Growth Markets Immigration Counsel will be part of Accenture’s Global Legal Network but working closely with and being supervised on a day to day basis by the Immigration Compliance Lead on Accenture’s Employment Law team. Employment Law is responsible and accountable for Accenture’s immigration compliance program and provides legal advice regarding immigration issues. We work with counterparts and stakeholders in the Legal Group, Mobility, Human Resources, and client delivery areas to compliantly provide necessary immigration related services.  

The Manager will be a subject matter expert in immigration law for multiple significant countries across Growth Markets, especially the Middle-East, as well as demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, an unwavering commitment to compliance, and have the business acumen to work with Accenture’s internal teams and senior leaders. Immigration advice will cover a wide spectrum of issues, including but not limited to advice on immigration strategies and deployment models for travel requests into countries in which the Company does not have a local registered entity.

The role will have the following responsibilities across Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Latin America and Africa:

Assure high quality compliance with relevant immigration laws by providing immigration law support appropriate to needs, and integrating external support as required.Monitor and interpret immigration regulatory changes, advise on the impact to Accenture, and help devise and implement responsive policy/practice modifications. This will be more heavily weighted to the Middle East and to the South East Asia Market Units compared to other locations due to the frequency of regulatory change.Make recommendations on, and escalate material immigration law issues to, the Managing Director – Employment Law and Immigration, the European Market Employment Law leads and other stakeholders.Work directly with outside counsel to integrate external and internal advice and recommendations.Immigration advice on contract and deal-related matters, including M&A activity.Immigration law analysis pertaining to Accenture’s evaluation of potential business opportunities and travel in countries in which the company does not have a local registered entity.  Legal support in the event of a government audit.Coordinate immigration risk reviews. Contribute to development of internal guidelines, toolkits, and packaged knowledge on legal and business issues around immigration compliance. Assist with analysis and implementation for global immigration and other employment law projects, as necessary.Foster seamless integration and teaming relationships with People Mobility, Employment Law, and other Legal teams.
