JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all ophthalmology diagnostic procedures except those that must be performed by the ophthalmologist or ophthalmic nurse;Administers topical eye medications as ordered by the attending ophthalmologist for the purpose of conducting various diagnostic procedures;Assists ophthalmologist in the performance of laser procedures;Ensures that all equipment and accessories are functioning properly and the materials and supplies needed in the procedures are available;Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot basic problem or mechanical failure of equipment and reports any malfunction to Senior Ophthalmic Staff;Monitors the utilization, repairs and maintenance of the equipment and accessories;Cleans and disinfects equipment in accordance with established standards and regulations;Encodes procedures and prepares results;Maintains appropriate records and generate reports as required (e.g. Monthly census of procedures, Annual Reports, etc.); andPerforms other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Senior Ophthalmic Staff and or Department Head.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
