Transcript Analyst

The content analyst- Transcripts will be responsible for production- and quality-related work within the Refinitiv financial transcription group. The transcription group uses proprietary techniques and software to produce transcripts that are extremely accurate and have a very fast turnaround time between the start of the event and the publication of the transcript.Responsibilities:Producing and editing transcripts in accordance with the transcription style manualAuditing transcripts for quality assuranceTesting and evaluating new production methodsPerforming additional quality assurance work for transcripts and transcript-related featuresMaintaining research databasesAssisting with operations and redline processesRequired Skills and Experience:Has a very strong understanding of the English language (grammar, sentence structure, etc.)Must be able to pass an editing test.Must understand grammar and the relation between written and spoken speech on an extremely high level,Have strong attention to detail.Be able to make distinctions and judgment calls independently and on very quick notice.Strong computer skillsCustomer service skillsExperience working with style guides is a plusGood typing speed (~60WPM)MS Office experience, especially Word and Outlook, and the ability to quickly learn new software. Service Cloud experience is a plus.A background in finance and knowledge of financial terminology is a plus, although coming from a background type listed above is more important.Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.Willing to work on a shift scheduleThe following types of work backgrounds are most desirable:Newspaper/magazine/online journalismFreelance writing/editingEnglish composition teachingEditing/proofreadingCourt reporting or other transcription work
