JOB DEscriptION:

Working with other teams and stakeholders to build key solutions for Acquire.Serves as Level 2 escalation for Linux support requirements.Adherence to key security and asset handling principles.Administers, supporting and maintenance of:Linux systems and related infrastructure of Acquire and all its subsidiaries.SFTP, DNS, SYSLOG, Email, web server etcElasticsearch and associated technologies.Design, installation, support, patching, upgrades, and backup of Acquire’s Linux systems and other key services.Spearheads troubleshooting and identifying recurring problems with the root cause analysis of the devices in scope.Responsible for Realtime proactive monitoring of Linux systems and servicesScheduling, performing, and maintaining backups and responsible for backup/recovery procedures.As L2 Systems Engineer you form a key part of the Acquire ICT team to ensure 100% availability and service delivery to the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Extensive experience on Linux (Ubuntu, etc…)Knowledge on various software and applications. Installing, testing, configuring, customizing and maintaining various operating systems and associated software.Knowledge on Server hardening, system monitoring, performance tuning, and process mapping.Knowledge of at least one backup platformUnderstanding of backup process, system monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and scripting/automation for Linux based OS.Technical knowledge and experience on server technologies other than LinuxAbility to follow, document, and maintain standard procedures.Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.Ability to respond to requests for technical assistance via phone and through other electronic means.Technical discipline to effectively perform routine assignments as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices.Ability to diagnose the cause of a problem in a complex environment and provide effective solutions quickly.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.Must possess a strong commitment to high-quality customer service.Self-motivated with ability to work on multiple complex projects at a time.Willing to work variable shifts including evening, weekends and public holidays.Linux Certifications are a plus.
