Overview:

In the Jury Verdict Attorney Editor role, you will leverage your legal analytical and writing skills to summarize judicial documents pertaining to civil jury verdicts and settlements for use in Westlaw. Jury Verdict and Settlement Summaries is a key content set heavily used in litigation.  Attorney Editors read, analyze, and interpret a variety of trial court documents to create premium and targeted summaries which allow our customers to make informed decisions regarding trial strategies and settlement discussions. Strong analytical and writing skills, as well as the ability to work independently, are necessary to maintain our world-class content.

about the Role:

Provide legal interpretation through analysis, research, and writing to develop and review content for customers

Adhere to editorial publishing schedules and quality standards as required for accuracy and completeness

Maintain and develop legal knowledge, including familiarity with the US civil litigation process and skills training as needed to complete your work and to stay current on legal trends and developments

Demonstrate competence on company-specific systems, including customized editorial systems, necessary to perform your job functions

about You: You’re a Fit for the Role of Jury Verdict Attorney Editor, if You:

Have a Bachelor’s of Law degree from an accredited law school or other equivalent, relevant legal training.A self-starter with aptitude for legal research, analysis, and writing.Have a keen eye for detail and established proof-reading skills, and can focus on detail-specific tasks, in addition to being able to pivot your attention to address high priority updates with little notice.Analytical thinker who uses logic and discretion to collaborate with global teammates to solve difficult problems.Decisive with a focus on making quality decisions quickly.Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex legal material.Comfortable with personal computers and familiar with word processing and online applications including the Microsoft 365 suite of apps.Can prioritize tasks and projects and pursue them with energy and drive.A great teammate who will work successfully in a global and collaborative environment.Strong, proactive, and assertive communicator who can speak and write clearly and effectively with all contacts, both in and outside Thomson Reuters, across the globe.
