WHAT IS A SYSTEM ENGINEER?
Our awesome client, a leading telco and network company based in Australia is looking for a System Engineer to be part of their IT and Software Development team.
Part of the Global Infrastructure division, the Tools & Capabilities Team is responsible for delivering new platforms, tools and services that are used across the organisation, and that enhance overall visibility, alerting and automation.WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES?
You will be responsible for the planning, deployment and management of network monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems for Symbio’s voice and data networks globally, to ensure the visibility of network operation and customer experience.You will also be responsible for developing and deploying integrations into other on-prem and SaaS tools used by Symbio which allow these systems to share information, ultimately resulting in better visibility, alerting, automated remediation and an overall reduction of outages.This role requires a broad knowledge in data and voice networks hardware, software and the OSI model, as well as experience with many different integration and metric/log collection methods including SNMP, SSH, API’s, Syslog, Beats, CollectD, Telegraf, etc.You will be joining a dynamic and fast-paced organisation where everyone has a voice, we challenge the “norm”, and where we strive to do it better every day!The role sits within the critical infrastructure teams and there is an expectation that occasional after-hours work will be required when potentially disruptive maintenance and upgrades are performed, and in emergencies.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years of relevant experience as a system engineerExperience in the following tech stack: Bash, PythonPreferably with experience in AWS (good to have), or other Cloud platforms
