Digital Engineering Manager

Purpose of the role:

We have an opportunity for a talented Digital Engineering Manager to lead our fast growing and highly collaborative Shared Services team, servicing internal operating companies of The CIMIC Group.

This role will provide proactive support to the projects across Asia and Australasia implementing The Group's standards, driving innovation in all areas and disciplines of work for Digital Engineering and Planning, and help reducing the overall cost of the provided services for The Group's operating companies.

This role will oversee the activities across various sectors of The Group providing digital and planning services that includes 2D drafting, 3D modelling, 4D programming.

Job Duties:

Design and Engineering operations management

Overall management of the digital engineering and planning team including resource allocation, and progress monitoring of project tasks.Manage consultants or third-party services under digital engineering teamResponsible for creating, implementing, and enforcing project BIM execution plansCreation and maintenance of the software template files to align with standardsManage BIM outputs for client issue and ensure they meet the Client’s information requirementsAutomate routines in BIM to support standards and productivityProvide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all outputs produced. Knowledge of ISO19650 standards is a must.Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standardsSupport Project Standards Coordination with StakeholdersUndertake audits on provided models and report on nonconformances with the BIM Execution plan and Client requirements.Manage and distribute coordinated Information Models with the project teamInternal Training: Provide BIM Management and training on BIM based toolsProvide Technical orientation to new hires regarding BIM tools and StrategyAssess BIM based competencies of new and existing staffStay informed on best practices for Digital EngineeringAny other duties as assigned by the immediate superior

Projects coordination and monitoring

Engage with project personnel for digital engineering requirements; gather input and discuss technical requirementsProvide technical guidance and guide team to execute digital engineering tasks from projectsProvide timely updates/reports on progress of project tasks of digital engineering teamReview and assessment of scope changes involved in digital engineering tasks and assist commercial assessment if requiredLead submission of deliverables to projects and ensure close out of completed tasks

Compliance review and monitoring

Review all outputs (models, drawings, etc.) for compliance with applicable BIM standard/codes or project requirementsGuide team to file BIM documentation, maintain record of delivery and timesheets for development and delivery scheduleGuide team to resolve instances of non-compliancesCompliance - Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations, by providing governanceOversee the deployment of and compliance to quality management systems

People, recruitment and performance management

Train and mentor subordinates on technical as well as behavioral aspects of their respective rolesProvide opportunities to the team to develop their capabilitiesParticipate / guide team to participate in weekly meetings with site team, provide information about engineering and design aspects and present progress on scheduled worksProvide support in recruitment processLead and manage the Shared services Digital and Planning group to the objectives set by the managementSupervise performance ratings of subordinatesResolve people issues together with managementSet the tone and direction on the Team’s Culture, in alignment to CIMIC’s and LAIO’s organizational culture and corporate valuesRecommends training and seminars needed by digital engineering team for future requirementsEncourage innovation thinking among the team 

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture or Building ServicesTotal Work Experience: 12 years of experience of working in and with Digital EngineersHas Design and construct work experienceAbility to manage a project’s digital information across all functionsExcellent leadership, stakeholder management and risk management skillsAbility to drive compliance and effective governanceDemonstrated ability to drive business excellence and continuous improvementDemonstrated experience in design management and understanding of construction deliveryAbility to publicly present, network and train othersUnderstanding of project operational and functional inputs into the digital engineering process
