GENERAL PURPOSE
The Visual Merchandising Specialist provides solution/s to store-specific in-store visual and merchandising challenges using brand standards to improve store aesthetics, increase business, help meet merchandising goals and ultimately maintain brand integrity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides store-specific visual merchandising solutions based on the brand’s over-all direction and standards. Ultimately responsible for the customized design specifications.
2. Partners and interacts with Marketing, DCM, Merchandising, SOS and IPA Departments to set store-specific visual merchandising strategies.
3. Uses independent thinking and judgment to evaluate complex projects and offers recommendations by investigating market opportunities and the impact of current VM standards to sales.
4. Participates in brain storming sessions of the department and the brand to ensure integrated efforts.
5. Prepares computer-aided designs and artworks based on the brand direction.
6. Supervises ingress and roll-out activities both for in-store or out-of-store events relevant to the brand.
7. Conducts regular store audits of assigned stores to ensure maintenance of VM standards set by the brand.
8. Identifies the latest innovations in merchandise presentation and store design through review of
competition, research and through partnerships with the vendor community and communicates them to the VM Supervisor.
9. Provides on-the-spot training and coaching of store managers and frontliners re the current VM standards and thematic displays.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION
EDUCATIonAL ATTAINMENT: Bachelor Degree in one of the following areas: Interior Design, Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Architecture, Fashion Design, Clothing Technology, Visual Merchandising
OTHER SPECIAL SKILLS:
1. Strong merchandise presentation skills.
2. Excellent understanding of customer-centered retail design. Strong computer skills, particularly in design software (AutoCad, Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, CorelDraw) and Office applications.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of Visual Merchandising and/or Store Planning experience Research and explore best practices in visual merchandising and is able to discern which competitive ideas are most effective.
4. Ability to identify potential Visual Merchandising opportunities and provide creative solutions.
5. Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities to maintain deadlines.
