Production Planner Job Description

Production Planner position is responsible for providing production planning services to meet customer demand to optimize production efficiencies. The Production planner will prepare timely and accurate production plans for the defined time fence by production area including LTP projection plans. They will be responsible for ensuring all Sales Orders are scheduled to the agreed lead-times and where they are not ensuring they are communicating to the relevant stake holders. They will be responsible for processing continuous improvement projects around production planning.

Duties and responsibilities

Work closely with Sales and collate sales orders requirements for scheduling.Co-ordinate a cross functional team to ensure production plan is feasible, understood and meets the needs of the customer.Issue weekly schedule by production line.Manages the production schedule and sequencing, track and measure efficiency, ensuring all necessary communication is coordinated to ensure production success.Lead Production plan meeting.Delivery of forward 12-week schedule by production area.Support the S&OP Process with reporting and insights for forward capacity issues, supply risks/OOS and excess inventory.Forecasts the future need of certain materials in order to increase or decrease production levels accordingly.Maintain planning Master data.Refine systems and methods to continually improve supply planning and scheduling processes.Ensure compliance with OSH & health and safety regulations.Provides necessary reports to the Supply Chain/ Warehouse Manager or other managers as required.Works well with managers to execute rules and regulations of the companyOther tasks/duties performed as requested

Qualifications and Key Skills

At least 2 years’ proven experience as a Production Planner in a food manufacturing environment preferredProficient with Microsoft Office, running MRP system; SAP is a plusPreferably 2-4 years’ experience in materials/ production planningRequired Skills: Materials planning, Inventory, Warehouse, Logistics, Mathematics, Procurement and SchedulingCandidate must be initiative, analytical, detail oriented, organized, team player and bring professional attitude towards workCustomer focus is a must and the ability to co-ordinate a cross functional teamThe ability to influence and get results from all members of the value chainExcellent English communication skills (Written and Oral)
