ROLE OVERVIEW
The Environmental Officer will be assigned to the Railways Right-of-Way, Site Acquisition and Environment Division under the Office of the Undersecretary for Railways and is responsible for the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
General Roles: Pollution Control Officer/Forester/Sanitary Engineer/Environmental Engineer/Environmental Management Specialist
Identifies and plans environmental-related activities.Ensures representation in consultation and coordination meetings with local government units, government agencies, etc.Ensures compliance to all conditions in the ECC and other environmental laws or safeguards, including tasks required of a Pollution Control Officer.Works closely with the environment specialist of the construction supervision consultant (CSC) in the conduct of environmental monitoring and preparation of environmental monitoring reports.Performs monitoring activities pertaining to Contractors' installation or construction of pollution source and control facilities and ensures their compliance with environmental laws.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree relevant to the jobCandidate must have a prior experience in any of the following: Pollution Control Officer/Forester/Sanitary Engineer/Environmental Engineer/Environmental Management SpecialistCandidate must have at least (4) hours of relevant training.Candidate must be willing to be assigned/travel to different locations as necessary.OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
Employment Type: Job Order / Contract of Service
Salary Grade: 11, 15, 18, or 22
Monthly Salary Range: 23,000 to 68,000 (depending on the salary grade)
