As Pollution Control Officer
1. Supervise pollution control operations and systems.
1.1. Identify significant environmental aspects and impacts of the establishment's operational activities and recommended possible mitigating measures in the formulation/preparation and/or review of the Environmental Management Plan
1.2. Monitor activities pertaining to the installations or construction of pollution source and control facilities to ensure compliance with the air, noise, land and water quality standards in compliance to PD 984.
1.3. Supervise the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities of the establishment or agency.
1.4. Review and/or recommend the purchase of equipment, machineries and materials for use in the department; approve and sign requisition for supplies and materials.
1.5. Review and approve personnel daily time report for the department; authorize overtime work and temporary transfers of personnel, if required.
1.6. Recommend personnel action covering employees under his supervision, such as the selection, appointments promotions, transfers, lay-offs and disciplinary actions.
1.7. Handle other matters of environmental concern as required by the company.
2. IMPLEMENT compliance requirements to Environmental Standards set by the Government
2.1. Attend to the requirements of the establishment prior to the construction or installation of pollution control facilities including the application and securing of necessary pollution permits.
2.2. Report within reasonable time to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) the breakdown of any pollution control facility, and the estimated and actual date of completion/repair and operation.
2.3. Conform to the requirements of the DENR and the latest available technology on the prevention, control and abatement of pollution, as part of being a liaison officer with DENR.
2.4. Maintain liaison with the city/provincial/municipal or local pollution control officers.
As Safety Officer
3. Implement safety programs for the Company to establish a safety culture
3.1. Enforce safety standards and processes to promote safe behaviors across projects and job sites
3.2. Conducts safety inspections, and monitors civil works, structural design and construction defects
3.3. Serves as the secretary of the Safety Committee
3.4. Investigates accidents and/or incidents related to safety
3.5. Facilitates sessions and talks which aims to improve employees’ safety awareness.
4. Manages compliance to Safety Standards set by the Government
4.1. Coordinates with DOLE, DOE, and other public and private agencies related to safety
4.2. Ensures on-time submission of government reportorial requirements
4.3. Acts as liaison of the company to the government on safety matters.
