1.0 JOB SUMMARY
Repair and test valves and associated components both in a workshop and site environment
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Overall responsibility for fitting duties, including:-
Ensure all work performed meets the requirements of ISO 9001 and company standards. Read and understand Engineering drawings
Close tolerance and interface fitting
Understand bolt torque requirements
Carry out evaluation of repairs required and document on QA card
Pressure test valves as per specification
Ensure PO or trace numbers are listed against any spares used on the QA jobcard
Fault find and resolve problems within your areas of competence. Carry out mechanical fitting duties
Work within your team environment complimenting good performance keeping focus on safety, quality and reporting any problems through the correct chain of
Work as a team with other valve technicians to ensure the priorities are met. Ensure QA procedures are followed for all work being carried out
Ensure QA card is completed and signed off for all work that you carry out
Ensure all out going jobs are completed to a high standard
Give advice and assistance to other valve technicians where required
Ad hoc duties or tasks as directed by your supervisor or manager
2.2 Overall responsibility for the workshop and site activities, includes:
Ensuring that all work is carried out to a high quality standard that meets the company and customer requirement
Provide assistance and support to personnel within your team. Highlight any performance issues to workshop supervisor Effectively communicate to all personnel and client
Raise workshop/site improvements or suggestions on facilities, procedures, trainings and safety
Observe Callidus safety standards on site environment Adherence to client safety culture and policies Represent Callidus on site on a high level standard
Complete site activities and assist client to a high level of standard
3.0 COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of a technical course
3 Years of experience in similar role
Good level of computer literacy
Have basic knowledge and experience in the following areas:
> PSV
> Control valves
> Instrumentation
> Calibration
> Severe Service Ball Valves
> Commodity valves ie gate, globe, check and butterfly
Have good communication skills with co-workers and clients
Have good organizational skills
Have good time management skills
4.0 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Work within the safety first environment / culture with other members of your team and encourage safe behaviour
All incidents and near misses must be reported to management / safety as soon as practically possible
Be familiar with, and adhere to Callidus safety policies/procedures and bulletins
Intervene where you see any unsafe behaviours/acts or practices
Ensure all areas abide to good housekeeping practices
Ensure JSA’s and lift plans are used for all work carried out. Assess these for suitability and adequacy
Attend safety meetings
promptly close out any actions assigned Complete assigned safety walk throughs Deliver first aid where necessary Participate in fire drills
