The HSSE Coordinator is responsible for the support, review, and enforcement of safety procedures and guidelines, trainings and metrics reporting. He or she will help develop and implement best practice procedures, develop and report key performance indicators and monitoring of all safety requirements are followed. He or she will be supporting develop training programs and help facilitate safety trainings for both the employees and contractors. He or she will collaborate with staff, contractors, vendors and business partners with the common goal of reducing workplace injuries. This position is designed to be pro-active and preventative in scope for the prevention of office and work site injuries.

Main Areas of Responsibilities:

Manage and schedule safety trainings to ensure compliance with overall training plan including maintaining records.Understands that he or she is to constructively partner and collaborate with all business partners, contractors and vendors to demonstrably comply and complete training programs and initiatives.Support in delivering client’s requirements including but not limited to safety programs.Schedules pre-event meeting(s) with contractors review all safety requirements, communication planning needs and planning for all aspects of a safe event.Facilitate onboarding and training for employees in safe work practices for newly hired or refresher training sessions, such as but not limited to: On-Boarding, Life Saving Rules, Permit to Work System, Hazards Identification, Scaffolding, Working at Heigh*t and Behavioural based Safety.Maintains safety files, records and logs.Performs safety inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure recommendations have been implemented.Provides oversight support and quality assurance for all incident reporting data and reportingMaintains the scheduling of training and conduct/participate in training sessions.Conducts and manages the deliverance of tool box talks and blue zone discussions when necessary.Assist in the development, annual reviews and upgrading of existing safety programs.Ability to assist Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) consultant for noise sampling, and/or use of air monitors for permit required confined space entries.

Experience, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor Degree requiredAt least 5 years of progressive safety experienceAdvanced skillset with IT applicationsBOSH and/or COSH Certification – PreferredAbility to read, analyses, and interpret various regulatory requirements.Ability to write reports, internal procedures, reviews, training programs and presentations.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departments; clients and contractors.Must express willingness to work weekends and evenings as required while performing the duties of this job for timely delivery of requirements.
