Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
● Act as an escalation point for Field Service Engineers.
● Act as a technical design coordinator for solutions, proposals, and
implementation to customers.
● Work side by side with project managers, field services, sales team, and
technical operations team to come up with the best possible and
competitive solutions, proposal, design, and implementation pertaining
to IT Network, Structured Cabling, Network Security, Audio Visual,
Acoustics, High Speed Internet Access, Internet Protocol Television,
casting solutions, and any technology services provided and proposed
by interTouch to customers.
● Occasionally Perform technical projects such as upgrades, new
firmware releases, hardware swap outs as dictated by internal product
development roadmap.
● Maintain regular communication with internal staff for all faults assigned
to them and external parties if needed.
● Occasionally provide telephone and email support to our clients and
internal staff, as needed across the entire range of our services and
solutions.
● Occasionally Working with carriers to achieve fault resolution
● Occasionally provide technical support and solution design for our
conference teams.
● Support and Perform regular maintenance of the backbone network,
identifying and resolving issues where possible.
● document and log all activity and information using the defined tools
and procedures to be shared to our internal FSE or cross functional
team.
● Developing and writing detailed technical and systems documentation
● Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
● Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the
effective performance of the role.
● Always conduct themselves in a manner befitting the company’s
image.
● To support pre sales activities, not limited to the following:
a. Coordinate in maintaining hotel installed servers, gateways, devices
and firewalls
b. Coordinate with the hotel private functions that needs services
c. Coordinate network problems and equipment
d. Accommodate service calls from hotels and resolve technical issues
in a timely manner
e. Coordinate and assist in the installation or disconnection of systems
at hotels and distribution of in-room collaterals
f. Technical site surveys, hardware installation, surveys and
documentation.
g. Provide presales solution and service to new prospect client by providing technical recommendation or suggestion to the property
owner
h. Coordinate and assist the operations team in installation of new
acquired properties
Other tasks/functions that may be assigned by the company as per
business requirement; these may change from time to time to reflect the
changing requirement of your position and our business.
Competency / Performance Drivers:
● Experience in design software like Visio, Iris, AutoCAD, Ekahau and
applications alike.
● Experience in structured cabling, network design and overall technical
project management.
● Experience configuring and working with network devices (Cisco
routers and multi-vendor switches)
● Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, WAN Routing: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS Switching: VLAN config, VTP, Spanning Tree Security:
IPSec, VPN, Wireless encryption MPEG compression and multicasting
● Experience and competency at using and administering Linux/Unix/OS
X operating systems
● Configuring and troubleshooting wireless networks
● Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
● Experience of data telecommunications products
● Self-disciplined and motivated
● Basic SQL experience, writing scripts and queries.
● Experience of IPTV systems (specifically DVB and Satellite technology)
● Security best practice/Firewall configuration and management/VPNs.
● Experience with BASH scripting is advantage
Technical Expertise:
● Educated to minimum Degree level or equivalent
● Minimum five (5) years of experience in technical support or service
related to IT / Telecoms
● CCNA/CCIP Qualification or any technical equivalent
● Good communication Skills
● Ability to prioritize tasks and goals, multi-task, and organize duties
with strong follow-through.
