Due to our recent expansion and consolidation of our Global Shared Services functions we are recruiting for Consulting Engineers – CE across all the key IT server, storage, and networking infrastructure technologies, such as (but not limited to) IBM, HP, Cisco, Dell/EMC. We are looking for Consulting Engineers with Strong Certifications who can come up with innovative solutions that work with our clients operational and budgetary needs. Consulting Engineers will be working with a wide range of internal and external TRT stakeholders to deliver technical solutions to support TRT’s professional, infrastructure design, maintenance, and Managed service offerings. Overview:

Consulting Engineers (CE) are to assist prospective and existing clients and business development manager with solution designs and provide Advanced Technical Support to the TRT Global Service Desk on escalated service cases.

Job Description:

The primary functions of the Consulting Engineer are:

• Analyze customer requirements to ensure TRT’s solution is technically accurate and complete by providing technical recommendations and formulating pre-sales consultations forms (PSC’s).

• Conducts high level changes to a customer’s environment by creation Change Request Form (CRF) and Scope of Work (SOW) documentation. 

• Engage in short to long term professional services project implementation and deployment and frequently communicate with the customer throughout the job delivery process.

• Perform and review periodic health checks, capacity planning, and firmware updates/patching to managed services customers and provide analysis and recommendations to further add value to TRT’s services.

• Attend pre-sales meetings, conduct solutions design and presentations, and answer technical queries from the customer.

•  Provide higher technical guidance and support to Global Support Delivery (GSD) and Field Engineers (FE) for escalated service calls.

• Attend the customer site when necessary to perform escalated hardware or software fault resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

Break/Fix Hardware Maintenance:

· Perform remote troubleshooting to identify failed hardware

· Coordinate with Service Partners or Support Engineering team for onsite support

· Involve external vendor support as and when necessary

· documentation of problem resolutions into TRT’s knowledge base

· Ensure procedures are properly followed when service partners attend site

· Assist the FE team as needed in resolving onsite HW break fix engagements with TRT clients

                                                                                                                          IT Infrastructure Support:

•  Analysis of system and network software problems (AIX, UNIX, OS400/IBM i, AS400/iSeries, Cisco iOS, Juniper JunOS, etc)

• Systems, Storage and Network appliance patching to resolve issues

• Escalation of core dumps to support partners and/or vendor labs for analysis

• Installation and maintenance of software packages

• documentation of problem resolution into TRT’s knowledge base via standard Wiki update procedure

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in any IT related course.

•  Depending on the CE’s primary skillset(s), should have a minimum certification on at least TWO (2) of the technologies below:

-        AIX: IBM AIX v7 Administrator Specialty

-        IBM Storage: IBM Certified Specialist - Midrange Storage Technical Support or Enterprise Storage Technical Support

-        Linux: Linux Professional Institute – Certification 2 (LPIC-2) or RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

-        HP-UX/ProLiant/Nimble: HP-UX Certified System Engineer or HPE ASE - Storage Solutions v3/v4 or HPE ATP - Hybrid IT Solutions v2

-        Solaris: Oracle Certified Professional – Solaris System Administrator

-        VMWare: VMWare Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)

-        Cisco: Cisco Certified Network Professional – Enterprise (CCNP – ENT)

-        Juniper: Juniper Certified Professional – Enterprise (JNCIP – ENT) or Juniper Certified Design Specialist – Data Center

-        Microsoft - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Server Infrastructure or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

-        TSM - IBM Certified Deployment Professional, Tivoli Storage Manager or IBM Certified Deployment Professional, Spectrum Protect

•  Must have 7 years or up of experience in handling remote break-fix hardware device maintenance, designing, and recommending solutions for above technologies.

• With 7 years up of experience in networking, server, and storage hardware and software. 

• Must have exposure/experience in analysis of Networking, Storage, UNIX, and Windows related software issues.

• Must have 4 years or up of experience in solutions design and project management.

• Project management certifications like PMP®, CompTIA Project+, or Certified Six Sigma Green Belt are a plus.

Cloud related certifications for public cloud vendors like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform are a plus.
