This metallized layer is then laminated onto another protective layer of polyester, coated with temperature mounting adhesives and enhanced with an acrylic hard coat on the outer surface to give the film a scratch resistant finish. This entire manufacturing process is performed in a certified clean environment. Other manufacturers employ conventional vapor coating techniques to metallized their films that result in an uneven surface of coated metals on the polyester.
