Senior Consulting Engineers will be working with a wide range of internal and external TRT stakeholders to deliver technical solutions to support TRT’s professional, infrastructure design, maintenance, and Managed service offerings. Overview:
Senior Consulting Engineers (CE) are to be engaged on projects and infrastructure designs, provide solutions to prospective clients, and act as an internal highest escalation to the TRT Global Service Desk escalated cases.
Job Description:
The primary functions of the Senior Consulting Engineer are:
• Analyze customer requirements to ensure TRT’s solution is technically accurate and complete by providing technical recommendations and formulating pre-sales consultations forms (PSC’s). • Involve in projects for TRT’s customers and designing of new clients’ infrastructure.
• Conducts high level changes to a customer’s environment by creation Change Request Form (CRF) and Scope of Work (SOW) documentation.
• Engage in short to long term professional services project implementation and deployment and frequently communicate with the customer throughout the job delivery process.
• Attend pre-sales meetings, conduct solutions design and presentations, and answer technical queries from the customer.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Consulting Engineers
• Act as an internal highest escalation to the Global Support Delivery (GSD) and Field Engineers (FE) for escalated service calls.
• document technical procedures and processes and update TRT knowledge database from time to time.
Key Responsibilities: ·
• Analyze customer and provide technical recommendations by formulating pre-sales consultations forms (PSC’s). · Work with Client Account Management/Business Development teams and executives to determine project objectives, completion criteria, and delivery schedule of server, storage, and network infrastructure and support.
· Identify potential scope changes, manage, and communicate risks and issues.
· document all aspects of the project planning process.
IT Infrastructure Support:
• Analysis of system and network software problems (AIX, UNIX, OS400/IBM i, AS400/iSeries, Cisco iOS, Juniper JunOS, etc)
• Systems, Storage and Network appliance patching to resolve issues
• Escalation of core dumps to support partners and/or vendor labs for analysis
• Installation and maintenance of software packages
• documentation of problem resolution into TRT’s knowledge base via standard Wiki update procedure.
Requirements:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in any IT related course.
• Depending on the CE’s primary skillset(s), should have a minimum certification on at least TWO (2) of the technologies below:
- AIX: IBM AIX v7 Administrator Specialty
- IBM Storage: IBM Certified Specialist - Midrange Storage Technical Support or Enterprise Storage Technical Support
- Linux: Linux Professional Institute – Certification 2 (LPIC-2) or RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- HP-UX: HP-UX Certified System Engineer or HPE ASE - Storage Solutions v3/v4
- Solaris: Oracle Certified Professional – Solaris System Administrator
- VMWare: VMWare Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization 2022 (VCP-DCV 2022)
- Cisco: Cisco Certified Network Professional – Enterprise (CCNP – ENT)
- Juniper: Juniper Certified Professional – Enterprise (JNCIP – ENT) or Juniper Certified Design Specialist – Data Center
- Microsoft - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Server Infrastructure or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- TSM - IBM Certified Deployment Professional, Tivoli Storage Manager or IBM Certified Deployment Professional, Spectrum Protect
• Must have 7 years or up of experience in handling remote break-fix hardware device maintenance, designing, and recommending solutions for above technologies.
• With 7 years up of experience in networking, server, and storage hardware and software.
• Must have exposure/experience in analysis of Networking, Storage, UNIX, and Windows related software issues.
• Must have 4 years or up of experience in solutions design and project management.
Project management certifications like PMP®, CompTIA Project+, or Certified Six Sigma Green Belt are a plus
