II-VI is looking for a R & D Chemical Engineer in the field of extractive metallurgy
Summary of Position:
Be part of the global energy transition to clean energy economy by joining our exciting multi-national team! We are looking for an R&D Engineer – in the field of Extractive metallurgy. The position is focused on developing, scaling up, and commercializing innovative hydrometallurgical recycling processes for the recovery and purification of valuable metals such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel from end-of-life batteries– advancing processes from laboratory to pilot, and full-scale manufacturing. The work involves a broad range of application areas including equipment and engineering design, process development, material production, material characterization, and life cycle assessments.
Qualifications:
At least a B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, me
tallurgical Engineering, Materials Science. Master’s degree is preferred.At least three (3) years of experience in extractive me
tallurgy, inorganic chemistry, or a related field in R&D settingKnowledge of chemical and/or me
tallurgical separation and refining processesPreferred Qualifications:Experienced in process engineering and plant designExperienced in managing, organizing, and maintaining large datasets, spreadsheets, and process modelsKnowledge of standard chemical laboratory methods and practices with hands-on experience in operating analytical toolsExcellent at written and verbal communicationSelf-motivated, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented
