The Sales Associate (to be part of an elite sales team) will be responsible in engaging customers by building on their interests and determining their needs and tastes met with the utmost level of consideration and coupled with a high luxury consumer experience. The candidate is expected to understand the importance of a luxury experience in order to endorse upscale merchandise. He/she should have a passion about craftmanship, fashion and its history. Very personable and has the charm and charisma in developing a good rapport with the customer. Being multilingual, particularly conversant in English, Chinese and/or Korean is an advantage.
ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Minimum Education: College degree of a 2-year or 4-year business-related course
Minimum Work Experience: Preferably at least 3 years relevant experience in sales involving promoting and selling luxury merchandise
SKILLES REQUIRED: SOFT SKILLS 1. Helpful - naturally eager to help your customers with everything they need. Able to answer questions, advise merchandise that is coming soon and provide product alternatives so customer can feel confident in their decision. 2. Empathic - able to get a quick read on a customer, understanding their emotions and needs to figure out what motivates them. 3. Patient - able to listen to the questions and explain product details. Can handle temperamental clients, potential issues with technology, and customers who spend an extraordinary amount of time trying to decide what they want. 4. Friendly - should be naturally welcoming and easy to get along with. Look for team members who describe working with customers as their favorite part of their job when hiring. 5. Fast learner - have the ability to quickly learn about brand new products right as they hit the floor, updated company policies, and new technology coming into the stores. 6. Multitasking - able to listen to the customers needs, make small talk with them while thinking about products that would be a good fit, find the products on the shelves, watch for new customers coming in and know when to push for the close. Able to successfully keep up with a fast-paced environment. 7. Time management- able to organize activities from handling of on-going transactions, follow up calls to clients, restocking merchandise or cleaning display cases. 8. Persuasive - able to aptly explain product information so customers. They can correctly understand a customer’s needs, overcome objections and explain why a product is right for the customer, often using feature-benefit selling. 9. Resilient - able to adapt to new store policies, new products and new industry knowledge on a regular basis. 10. Adaptable - able to adapt to specific challenges placed in front of them, such as selling or offering customer service in different situations
