PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigate the facts of a case, and co
nduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles;Get affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court;Help lawyers during trials by organizing evidence, handling exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed, taking courtroom notes, or reviewing trial trans
cripts;File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal docu
ments with the court or opposing counsel;Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files, mo
nitoring and updating calendar, meeting deadlines, docu
menting actions, co
nfirming case status with attorneys;Helps develop cases by maintaining co
ntact with people involved in the case, scheduling depositions, generating status reports, and keeps clients informed by maintaining contact, communicating case progress;Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences, preparing pleadings, mo
nitoring and obtaining discovery responses, organizing materials for team case review;Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions;Coordinate the logistics of attending the trial, transporting exhibits and docu
ments to the courtroom;Maintains case costs by verifying outstanding balances with attorney, clients, and providers.
REQUIREMENTS
