Essential Functions
The teacher shall:
Academic:
Teach classes and courses as assigned following FIA adopted curriculumPlan using unit/semester/quarterly plans and objectives.Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to his/her potential.Utilize best practices teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the f
ramework of the philosophy.Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
Professional:
Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good learning environment.Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.Cooperate with administration in implementing policies and procedures governing the school.Inform the administration in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty assigned. Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher.Prioritize FIA respo
nsibilities above outside ministry commitments.Be on time and present on campus from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm on school or inservice days.Respond to correspo
ndence in a timely manner.Know and comply with the school practices as stated in the faculty handbook and student-parent handbook.Manage and update data on school software (T: drive and Curriculum Trak online) in a timely manner.Work within the supervision, e

First semester runs from early August to Christmas break with a week break at quarter time in October. Second semester begins in January and finishes in late May or early June, again with a week’s break at the end of quarter three in March. Philippine national holidays are typically celebrated with no classes for the day. The school day starts at 7:30 and finishes by 2:40 with many students remaining at school until 5:00 because of the favorable atmosphere.
