Description:

The Blood Utilization Compliance Officer monitors the compliance of the hospital with requirements of Department of Health (DOH) regarding blood transfusion practices. He/She also monitors the compliance of different hospital units to the Hospital Blood Transfusion Program to ensure patient safety during transfusion of and appropriate utilization of blood and blood products.

Duties & Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Coordinates with multidisciplinary specialties in creating and modiying hospital-wide programs, policies, and procedures for blood transfusion and utilization.Assists the Hospital Blood Transfusion Committee (HBTC) in disseminating information on the Hospital Blood Transfusion Program, clinical practice guidelines, and related policies and other Quality Improvement and Patient Safety activities.Coordinates and/or conducts seminars in collaboration with the Blood Bank on voluntary blood donation and appropriate use of blood and blood products.

Qualification:

Registered Medical TechnologistAt least five (5) years of clinical experience or experience in blood transfusion services or blood bank center
