Job Description:

Abstracts patient charts and assign appropriate diagnostic codes.Synopsize important information from patient records and assign/ review medical codes for accuracy.Responsible for ensuring codes meet all federal, legal & Insurance regulations so payments are obtained in a timely manner.Keep abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.Update skill and knowledge levels in accordance with CMS approved (AHA and AMA) coding changes.Complies with confidentiality standards and HIPAA privacy regulations.Perform other tasks and projects as needed by medical coding operations.
