NATURLAND PHILIPPINES is LOOKING for a LOCAL ORGANIC CERTIFICATION COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Naturland is an international organic farmers’ association based in Germany that supports the development of organic farming on a regional, national and global scale, together with its partner organizations and farmers.
Founded in 1982 in Bavaria, it developed in the region before extending its membership in Germany, Europe and even globally. With over 100,000 farmers in 60 countries including the Philippines, it is one of the leading international organic farmers’ associations.
PURPOSE
As a Local Organic Certification Compliance officer, you will be responsible for evaluating farming operations’ compliance with the Naturland Participatory System (PGS) standards, with issuing reports, interpreting data, and collaborating in the process of evaluation and approval of PGS certification. You must have a good understanding of organic farming, and organic reporting processes.
You will work closely with the headquarter’ s project manager in performing tasks related to Naturland PGS certification.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support farmer communities in their PGS activity before and during inspection/evaluation processes
• Perform regular quality assessment and conduct inspection/audits
• Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
• Develop effective plans for the completion of assigned inspections within a determined timeframe
• Establish and maintain effective communication with headquarter based project managers and country officer in the Philippines
YOUR PROFILE
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field
• 2-3 years of work experience in quality control or a similar role
• Ability to work, interact and collaborate well with farming communities
• Good understanding of organic agriculture and/or related practices
• Strong understanding of production/quality control standards
• Ability to work independently from remote location
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Multitasking and time management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Can work with little supervision
• Knowledge and experience of PGS will be a definite advantage

The vacancy will be part of the three-year project “Improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in the Philippines by supporting the establishment of trustworthy organic value chains from farm to fork” (01.08.2021- 31.07.2024).
