Position Summary
• To perform flight dispatch functions in accordance with the company and client’s policies & procedures.
• To assist Duty Officer/Sr. Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
Flight Planning
1. Interprets & applies Aviation weather forecast (TAF, TTF, metaR).
2. Interprets & applies Minimum Equipment List (MEL) from DDG Manuals.
3. Determine relevance of NOTAM & applies restrictions to flights.
4. Determine performance take-off heaviness and applies restrictions.
5. Determines company approach minima with respect to forecast weather requirements, in particular to identify alternate/holding provisions that will be reflected in flight plan.
6. Identifies restricted area, military exercise, volcanic activity, cyclones and other phenomena & applies potential impact to the route of flight.
7. Determine standard and industrial tanker flights and applies required parameters to flight plans.
8. Ensures nominated ETOPS and Non-ETOPS alternate airports are suitable for the period of possible use and satisfies the ETOPS and Non-ETOPS pre-dispatch weather criteria.
9. Applies company fuel policy to generate and distribute computer flight plans accounting for all operational factors applicable to a given flight.
10. Files, modifies and cancels ATS flight plan according to ICAO standards and NZ domestic regulations.
Operation of Systems
1. Retrieves flight details & payload from IFDS system.
2. Calculates flight plan limitations and applies modifications using Navtech system.
3. Publish computerized flight plans, NOTAM & weather briefing packages with required charts to flight crews.
4. Plots weather systems and temporary flight restrictions in Flight Explorer to assist in the selection of the appropriate route.
Teamwork & Coordination
1. Participates in the shift briefing process with the new and relevant information that imposes potential impact to flight planning.
2. Assists Duty Officer and other Officers in the timely delivery & accurate output for any changes in flight plans caused by disruptions
3. Provides operational support in manpower in the event of emergency of associate within the shift or in the next shift to cover operational exigency.
4. Coordinates with the Duty Officer to inform irregularity in flights, adjustment or amendment if required in accordance to company policy and procedures.
5. Communicates to concerned parties to inform malfunction with the systems & performs immediate actions to minimize delay in releasing the flights.
Administrative
1. Accomplish documents, tasks as required and directed.
2. Prepares and completes Duty Sheet with the assigned flights in accordance with the procedures.
Minimum Qualification (Technical, specific or unique to the job)
1. Functional Competencies
• Knowledgeable in Flight Planning and Airways Operations Control systems and principles;
• Highly trainable in using Navtech Flight Planning system, Integrated Flight Dispatch System, ROCADE, Flight Explorer and other systems;
• Preferably has experience in handling ETOPS flights for Airbus A320/A330, and Boeing B787;
• Excellent in coordination and communication skills;
• Willing to be based in Metro Manila or other locations as may be required by business operations;
• Must be able to work on flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and/or holidays;
• General computer proficiency
2. License
• CAAP FOO License, FAA or other Flight Dispatch Operations License is preferred but not required
3. Education and Work Background
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field related to Aviation
• Has completed Flight Dispatch/Flight Operations Training Course
• Its a plus if has working experience in airline flight planning
