The Research and Development Specialist is responsible in conducting new product development projects; product standardization and improvement; and establishing quality specifications of finished products, raw materials and packaging materials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs new product development/ product improvement projects. Co
nducts selection, testing and approval of new and/or alternative raw materials and packaging materials.Establishes and docu
ments process specification and specifications for raw materials and packaging materials. Works with Production and Quality Assurance Departments on co
nducting technology transfer and standardization for new and/or improved products. Co
nducts product shelf-life testing prior to technology transfer. docu
ments final product formulations and specifications/ technical sheets before the initial batch production and market release.Other related duties that may be assigned by the Executive Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess at least Bachelor’s/ College Degree in Food Technology or equivalent With at least 2 years experience in Product Development and Improvement Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements (Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/ Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Co
ntrol Point (HACCP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA)) Working background in a restaurant commissary is an advantage but not required Adaptable to work in a multi-tasking environment; open-minded and can work under pressure With excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate and establish good working relatio
