nsible for the general landscape development and maintenance, including acquisition and propagation of suitable plant species.Co
nduct landscaping operations and designs in various enviro
nments such as gardens, residential subdivisions and other outdoor landscapes.Ensures plant growth, the cleanliness of outdoor facilities and pruning of overgrown hedges.Plans and supervises the implementation of all activities relative to ornamental gardening.Supervises gardeners and ensures that their assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.Inspects the greens and landscaped areas for damage or disease and recommends solutions as appropriate.Ensures that safety precautions are followed when spraying the plants with fungicides or insecticides.Ensures that landscaped areas and related items are cleaned and maintained regularly.Designs landscaping of grounds inside and around the project site.Plants various landscaping materials, e.g., shrubbery, flowers, lawns, trees, hedges.Prepares grounds e.g., fertilizes soil, courtyards, flowerbeds.Prepares reports on project status updates, cost estimates, and landscape plans.Recommends materials, supplies and equipment necessary in the co
nduct of their work.
Job Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture major in Horticulture, Agronomy, or any related course.In-depth knowledge of tree nursery management, plant ID and propagation, pest management, basic landscape design concepts, and landscape maintenance techniques, with capabilities to recommend materials, supplies and equipment necessary in the co
nduct of their work.With at least 3 years of work experience in grounds/landscape maintenance in commercial or leisure establishments.Must be willing to do field work and supervise teams on the ground.Applicants with knowledge of landscape design software SketchUp and/or AutoCAD are highly preferable.
