• Will be reporting to the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Finance Manager
• Oversee compliance of regulatory requirements (i.e., BIR, BOC, SEC) including financial audits
• Liaises with various department or unit heads relative to financial data or information, budget preparation, or operational finance reporting
• Assists the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports; monitors and reports on financial performance of individual departments and the division as a whole; recommends corrective actions based on analysis
• Provides guidelines, as may be requested by the different work units as cost and revenue centers, on the preparation of their respective budgets; Interprets operative budget policies and procedures to other departments
• Monitors the different departments and work units with respect to their compliance with their respective approved operating budgets and ensures the provision of regular budget performance reports to the different work units
• Manages special projects and other duties as required by the management
• Assists the Finance Manager with development and study of new business proposals and planned major capital expenditures including budget preparations, project specifications, capital investments, pricing structures
• Undertakes researches on and provides financial information that enables management to make informed long-term and short-term decisions
• Participates in collegial planning for policies, procedures and systems, problem solving, decision making and performance monitoring through participation in standing and ad hoc committees, task forces, and project teams
• Performs other duties and responsibilities analogous, related to and/or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities or as assigned by an immediate superior or management, as necessary
Position or Work scope:
1. Handle full spectrum of financial accounting role such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, forecasting, etc.
2. Review and finalise annual statutory accounts and monthly / semi-annual / annual Geneva reporting package for submission to HK
3. Annual reporting, tax filings and other statutory filings
4. Financial budgeting (Annual, F1 and F2 updates), reporting, analysis
5. Accurate accounting and timely closing of accounts for statutory reporting and HK head office reporting
6. Business risk assessment and internal control (incl. review and finalise internal control cycles and documentation)
7. Review / approve Purchase Requests, Contracts jointly with General Manager / Management
8. Work jointly with HK legal department to handle legal affairs
9. Liaise with external auditors, government authorities, etc.
10. Finance team management and training
11. Review / maintain supplier master file, set up and HSBCnet for HK approval
12. Review / maintain AR master file and set up for HK approval 13. Review and approve payments in accordance with jointly signing arrangement
14. Insurance - review and submit monthly insurance declaration to HK; review and submit annual insurance declaration for renewal reporting to HK
15. Ensures completeness of files/documents subject for reporting to BIR and ensures it reflects the accurate performance of the company
16. Preparation, filing and coordination of payments of all applicable taxes of the company (e.g. expanded withholding tax, withholding tax on compensation, Fringe Benefit tax, VAT, Corporate Income Tax)
17. Liaise with BIR and government offices
18. Will be part of Accounting Department’s compliance efforts to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations of the government
19. Reviews and evaluates compliance to all tax-related transactions and processes
20. Lead the coordination with and provide the requirements of tax auditors and/or consultants for ongoing tax audit or other tax related work
21. Assist with tax compliance deadlines, extensions and audits
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Degree holder or higher with major in Accountancy or business related discipline
2. Certified Public Accountant
3. 7 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
4. With a BIR Audit experience
5. Strong presentation and communication skills to audience of all levels
6. Self-motivated, independent, detail-minded, well organized with strong sense of responsibility
7. Must have high degree of integrity, self-starter, have high energy and possess a can-do attitude
8. Able to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines
9. Proficiency in computerized accounting system and MS Office software
10. Good command in both written and spoken English
