Qualifications:
• Must be a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines
• At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in litigation, labor, corporate and or any of the mentioned field.
• Strong verbal, oral & written communication skill
• Leadership, analytical negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills which enable to work effectively with all department members, and also to collaborate with external auditors when needed
• With experience as a corporate lawyer.
• With SEC work experience in handling customer’s complaints.
• Must have a long-term plan to work and grow in the company
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Willing to work in Makati
• Willing to work from Monday to Saturday
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develops and updates documentary requirements of the company relating to AMLC, etc. such as, but not limited to, forms, policies, manuals, guidelines.
• Submits timely, complete, and accurate reports to regulators to address legal and regulatory requirements under AMLC
• Attend hearings or proceedings before the courts, tribunals or other government agencies as the case may be
• Preparation of pleadings and other legal documents
• Review documents for crafting of legal advice and formulating legal strategy for the speedy disposition of cases
• Analyze documents in order to provide the company the best legal options available
• Can negotiate extrajudicial compromises
• Represent the company in all stages of proceedings
• Preparation of papers and other pleadings
• Can draft and review employment contracts
• Prepare memorandum and notices in support of the HR Department
• Provide company legal advice when needed
• Can prepare and review internal company guidelines and policies
• Ensure that the company is compliant with existing laws, rules and regulations.
• Oversee the daily management of the legal function and provide accurate, timely and pragmatic legal advice to support the Company’s business and commercial objectives.
• Oversee the Legal team in the formulation, planning and implementation of an effective legal strategy for the Company and in managing legal risk.
• Ensure that appropriate contractual protection for the Company is in place to ensure that contracts reflect the commercial terms agreed, that website and customer facing terms and conditions are fair, clear and transparent and to assist the business to manage legal risk, having due regard to the requirement to treat customers fairly.
• Monitor and report on any legal issues, opportunities and development in a timely manner.
• Establish and maintain an increased awareness and understanding of the legal function and management of legal risk.
• Ensure awareness of any legal updates/regulatory changes and advise on any necessary changes to Company legal policy.
• Advise on and assist with the management of all contracts and legal documentation within the organization.
• Research, prepare and present briefings to colleagues and senior management on relevant legal issues.
• Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of a brand protection policy within the Company.
