Job Description
TERMS OF REFERENCE (to be completed by Hiring Office)
Hiring Office: UNFPA Philippines Country Office (CO)
Purpose: The Youth Coordinator shall assist the UNFPA Philippines Country Office (CO), as the current chair of the UN Youth Thematic Group to ensure greater collaboration and continuity across UN agencies on initiatives for adolescents and young people in line with the principles enshrined in the SDGs, the UN 2030 Youth Strategy, International Conference Population and Development (ICPD), CEDAW, Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and other pertinent UN resolutions international normative standards and agreements. The coordinator will help identify areas to better position UNFPA in its advocacies on youth empowerment, ensuring that no one is left behind.
The consultant shall also work with the Cotabato Sub-Office and the CO Programme Unit in analysing key CO initiatives and providing recommendations on approaches and capacities to achieve its objectives on empowering young people and its transformative goals.

Coordinate with UN agencies to ensure that priorities of the UN Country Team (UNCT) fully support natio
nal strategies and policies on youth empowerment and that it will promote achievement of UNFPA’s Three Transformatio
nal GoalsAs necessary, coordinate with the UN Youth Thematic Group Mindanao Working group and government, civil society, media and private sector for coherent youth empowerment advocacyPrepare, develop, and/or provide technical advice to mo
nitoring and reporting youth-related outputs (i.e PFSD pillar reports, youth scorecard, youth situatio
nal analysis, etc)Facilitate knowledge sharing on knowledge and communication products on youth interventions among UN Youth Thematic group members in collaboration with UN Communications Group (and with other partners, if needed)Assist in major youth-related events such as Internatio

This is a full-time consultancy and the individual is expected to work with the team from Monday to Friday.
Place where services are to be delivered: Duty Station: UNFPA Philippines, Manila
Delivery dates and how work will be delivered ( e.g. electronic, hard copy etc.): Monthly accomplishment report to be submitted at the end of each month detailing: a) Target Deliverables; b) Deliverables Achieved; and c) other Comments/Remarks
Monitoring and progress control, including reporting requirements, periodicity format and deadline: The monthly accomplishment report described above will be prepared by the Consultant, reviewed, and verified and approved by the Assistant Representative , Manila, Philippines
Supervisory arrangements: The Youth Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Assistant Representative . She/He shall maintain coordinative and collaborative relationships with staff at the C ountry Office and Cotabato sub-office including O perations staff.
Expected travel: He/She will be expected to travel to the Sub-Office if needed.
Required expertise, qualifications and competencies, including language requirements: The Youth Coordinator should possess the following qualifications and competencies: Education:
Masters Degree in Development Studies, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or related field with relevant experience with two years experience
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or related f ield with two to four years of relevant experience
Knowledge and Experience:
E xperience working with young people on youth issues related to ASRH & HR, GBV, Youth leadership and advocacy, Population and Development and Knowledge ManagementE xperience working with UN Agencies, Youth Networks, Civil society networks, multiple government and non-government stakeholdersPrior experience i n developing, implementing and mo
nitoring of Wo rk plans & Budgets is an added advantage
