Responsible for the General Accounting and Treasury functions of the APAC Chubb Shared Services Unit in the Philippines. To handle periodic financial close-off, Tax filing activities, provide assistance and serve as back-up to General Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1.The day to day activities includes preparation, documentation, review and validation in the following areas:
•Daily monitoring of bank balances to ensure sufficient funds for cash flow requirement
•Perform upload of general ledger entries via PeopleSoft
•Monitor and reconcile Inter-company accounts balances
•Upload tax returns via BIR eFPS filing system i.e, 0605, 1601EQ, 1601C, 1603, 2550M, 2550Q, 1702Q
•Perform maker function via Citidirect to initiate tax remittances via eFPS and subsequently forward to on line approvers for 1st and 2nd level authorization
•Periodic review and monitoring of fixed asset register
•Regular review and maintenance of Chart of accounts
•Regular review and updating of Employee Cost Centre
2.Ensure completeness and proper recording/documentation of accounting transactions and subsequently organize filing of vouchers and other financial documents for audit purposes.
3.Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close-off, accruals and reporting requirements at the Regional and Global levels including coordination with regional finance in running cost allocation via PeopleSoft.
4.Prepare accounting and statutory reportorial requirement of government/regulatory agencies, i.e., PEZA (financial reports), SEC (GIS and audited FS) LGU (Business Permit) and BIR (filing of tax returns and audited FS, Vendors Alphalist, List of Purchases, Annual list of Taxes Withheld (1604E), Annual List of Taxes on Compensation (1604CF) etc.
5.Prepare and accomplish all regional and global templates for periodic financial reporting requirement such as, LBE, IQ, Tax IQ, Defined Benefits, GBAS Stat to GAAP recon, YE stat audit update/info to COG etc.
6.Upload SSU budget and forecast data to TM1 and coordinate with regional IT for TM 1 entry template on IT expenses. Includes coordination with regional finance on running cost allocation in TM1/PeopleSoft.
7.Active engagement in annual external audit by producing Trial Balance, BS and P&L schedules including account reconciliation reports, bank and legal /confirm/iation, actuarial reports, and other client assistance schedules required by PwC
8.Assist in budget forecast and planning by providing cost/expenditure data analytics
9.Assist and provide back-up to General Accounting Manager
10.Work with the Accounting Manager to establish goals and objectives for performance reviews and evaluation in accordance with Chubb Talent portal schedules.
11.Monitor and analyse accounting procedures to develop/suggest more efficient process while maintaining high level of accuracy and timely production of financial statements
12.Any other general accounting related projects and adhoc reporting that maybe assigned from time to time.
Experience:
•Advance knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•Experience in General/Financial Accounting with at least 2 years holding supervisory position gained in BPO or Shared Services industry.
•Previous experience with PEZA entity preferred
•Possess knowledge and understanding of operational, financials, cost metrics and SLA applied under a Shared Services or BPO environment.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
•Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
