The General Ledger Associate will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end general accounting activities. Also, you will work and coordinate with the onshore local finance leads.
The overall purpose of the role is:
• Ensure transactions are processed accurately as per procedures defined in documentation
• Have basic knowledge of finance to understand how the F&A process works (journals, profit & loss, final accounts)
• Perform simple reconciliations, process journal entries, update fixed assets details, as per country’s finance team’s requirement and resolve customer queries.
• Have clear understanding on AP, AR and T&E processes and an overview of the engagement life cycle.
• Handle reconciliations, process, review and post journal entries; process and review fixed assets details.
• Carry out reconciliation and analysis of the balance sheet control accounts and work towards resolution of open items and reconcile few P/L accounts required for the tax schedule.
• Identify potential areas for process improvements and highlight the same to Supervisors.
• Help supervisors to carry out quality audits to identify the weak areas in reconciliation and journal process and answer remedy cases.
• Provide relevant process reports / statutory reports daily basis.
• Have advanced knowledge of MS EXCEL, Good review skills, decision making skills, presentation and multitasking skills.
• Meet defined SLAs
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
• Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience in a similar General accounting (journals, profit & loss, final accounts) or finance role within a large organization
• Experience in a professional services environment preferred but not required.
• Proven analytical skills and attention to details
• Ability to build strong relationships across the business at all levels.
• Ability to work at pace with changing priorities
• Language Skills: Can understand text that consist mainly of high frequency; make use of dictionaries and other language resources to understand job related document.
• PC skills: Have advanced knowledge in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Technology Skill: Have a sound knowledge in accounting
