Job Description:
Our company is expanding, and we are seeking a full time Accounting AR Staff. This accounting role will handle day-to-day billing, statements, accounts receivable transactions, and related processes, in order to help secure the company's global revenues. This individual will also be responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues.
The successful candidate must be able to collaborate with sales and external customers located around the world. When issues arise with payments or billings, this role will require contact with the customer to resolve problems to the satisfaction of both the customer and the company.
A strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are also required. The ideal candidate will be a team player and display excellent customer service, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team to facilitate internatio
nal receivables processes and implement improvements with the goal of ensuring timely and accurate payment application, reco
nciliation and reporting of customer accounts.Provide accounts receivable aging statements and reports, while maintaining detailed information on account status across each region and analysis of delinquent accounts.Research and resolve payment discrepancies, with proactive outbound calls and follow up email, across multiple time zo
nes around the world. Work with customers to resolve unapplied payments.Build and maintain positive working relatio
nships with internal departments and external customers, with a professio
nal manner. Ensure all customers remain informed of their outstanding invoices and deadlines.Maintain accurate customer files and records, docu
menting customer correspondence, payment advices, and exporting docu
mentation and internatio
nal banking information, including letter of credits.Ad-hoc special projects, and other requests as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* College degree with a major in Accounting or Business Administration.
* 3-4 years of experience with international corporate accounts receivable and collections.
* Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, accounts receivable functions, and trade business terms.
* Must be highly proficient in computer software programs such as Excel, including vlookups, pivot tables, and formulas.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with corresponding departments and clients at different levels and offshore locations.
* Self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
* Highly organized and ability to manage time effectively.
* Analytical with ability to handle large sets of data with an attention to detail.
* Experience in overseas distribution and/or sales export environment is a plus.
